Gordon Harris, M.Mus.St. (QCGU), BA (UQ), Grad.Dip.Mus. (Opera Perf) (QCGU), Cert.T. (KGTC), A.Mus.A., MACE
Teacher of classical voice, Musical Theatre and Contemporary Voice
Principal Voice Teacher and founder of GH Singing Studio, Gordon Harris, is a vocal specialist of long standing. Accomplished as both performer and teacher, he has the expertise and knowledge to help you become the singer you want to be.
Gordon has been a practising teacher for over 50 years. His assignments included eight years as Vocal Teacher at Brisbane Boys Grammar School and a period as Sessional Voice Teacher at Queensland Conservatorium of Music. For some fourteen years he was a regular performer in Opera Queensland productions and he was a member of The Ten Tenors in its formative years.
To enhance his skills as a teacher of voice, Gordon has made an intense study of vocal pedagogy and the male adolescent singing voice. He has been a teacher at his own private studio for over fifteen years. It has been the perfect vehicle to exercise his passion for nurturing the talents of his many students.
Marcia Penman, B.Mus.Theatre (QCGU)
Teacher of Contemporary Voice and Musical Theatre
Marcia comes from a background of performing, particularly in musical theatre. She has a vast range of experience and training in all singing styles, having initially trained as a dancer. Her performing experience has ranged across musical theatre, cabaret and Corporate Work.
We are indeed very fortunate to have Marcia as a teacher at GH Singing Studio. The diversity of her training and experience adds much to what we can offer to students. As well as her studio teaching, she has even more to share through the Workshops on offer.
Call us today to book a very special session with this very special teacher.
Aimee Rose Harris, B.Mus (Hons) (Uni of London), Grad.Dip.Ed (Sec Teach) (Uni of Edinburgh)
Teacher of Piano and Theory of Music
Aimee Rose could only be described as a charismatic person. Her warmth and her bubbly demeanour make a significant impact on all who meet her. Such a personality is inevitably a source of great comfort and encouragement for her students. Aimee Rose is a highly talented musician and teacher. Her performing experience on the piano has been impressive but it is on the viola that she has made her greatest impact, having played with high profile orchestras during her stay in the UK. She also had a great deal of experience as a Music Teacher in various situations.
With such high calibre qualifications and experience, Aimee has already made quite an impact on her students at GH Singing School. We look forward to enjoying her influence for a long time to come.
Aaron Dixey, B.Mus.(Perf)(JMC Academy)
Teacher of Acoustic, Electric and Bass Guitar
An accomplished guitarist for the past ten years, Aaron has gained experience in multiple genres, from the blues through to metal. His degree studies at JMC Academy enhanced his experience and skills, provided the theoretical and practical background to inform his performing and to equip him with the wherewithal to teach.
Aaron regularly gigs around Brisbane with his band, Void Matter, and he often plays at festivals and interstate shows.
GH Singing Studio is, indeed, fortunate to have a teacher of Aaron’s calibre. As well as teaching acoustic, electric and bass guitar, he is a proficient ukulele teacher.
Having paused her Education Studies at Australian Catholic University, Zoë has spent the last year developing two businesses. Her entrepreneurial flair and her work ethic have positioned her well to carve out a very promising career in business in the future.
In addition to her business ventures, Zoë has brought her skills and enthusiasm to GH Singing Studio to handle much of the administration work and ongoing Accounting, to free Gordon to spend more time doing what he does best … teaching voice.
In time, Zoë’s influence will filter out to all who have dealings with GH Singing Studio. In the meantime, she is happy to offer her help to anyone who needs it.
